Empowering Underprivileged Families & Strengthening Communities

From emergency meal distributions on the east side of Columbus to weekend career workshops at our community center, IBADO East African Charity Foundation walks alongside families who need a steady hand — not a lecture.

Three Pillars of Community Care

Every program is designed with input from Columbus neighborhood leaders, social workers, and the families we serve. No bureaucracy — just direct, accountable support.

Family crisis relief support

Family Stabilization & Crisis Relief

Emergency grants, utility assistance, and one-on-one financial counseling help vulnerable households navigate sudden job loss, medical bills, or housing instability. Our intake line fields direct emergency counseling calls every weekday morning.

Where Every Dollar Goes

We hold ourselves to a standard that major foundations set: the vast majority of every donation reaches families on the ground. Our Treasurer, Patricia E. Peterson, CPA, publishes quarterly allocation summaries for board review.

Abshira Qassim

Principal Officer / President

Abshira founded IBADO after witnessing too many east Columbus families cycle through temporary aid without lasting support. She oversees strategic mission execution, IRS 501(c)(3) public-charity compliance, and community outreach alliances across Columbus, OH. Under her leadership, the foundation grew from a weekend food pantry into a multi-program community resource center serving thousands annually.
